Test Taking and Study Skills Strategies

Parent
Information
Your child/children will
be bringing home several items for you to fill out and
return the
first week of school. Please encourage them to return
the appropriate forms in a timely manner. Be on the
lookout for:
- Newly printed
student schedule (goldenrod)

Acceptable Use
Policy (Freshmen and New Students only): This must be signed and returned before
students are allowed access to school computers and
the PLD network. You can print a copy of this form
by clicking here.

Media Forms (Freshmen
and New Students only): These
forms must be signed and returned before any student
may appear in the yearbook or any videos produced by FCPS.

Free and Reduced
Lunch Application: any student needing free/reduced
lunch must apply each year.

Parent Release
Authorization form: must be completed and returned.
Students cannot be released to leave the building
with any adult unless that person is listed on the
signed form.

Impact Aid Survey:
if parent works on federal property or is in the
military, please fill out and return.
- FCPS Code of Conduct
booklets
- FCPS School Calendar.
- Student Insurance
application: return if family is interested.
- PLD Time Tracker (Freshmen
only): Calendar/assignment book to be filled out
daily by student.

Total amount for
fees/textbook rental: write one check
payable to PLD for textbook, lock, and
technology fees. Please write "student's name
and #401" on the memo line. Any other fees (specific
class) should be paid with a separate check.
(Items highlighted in red should be sent back to
school with your child as soon as possible)
Students should receive
additional information in each class:
- a class
syllabus/schedule
- any information
about specific class fees or supplies needed
- other information
about grading and rules in the class
Fees At a glance...
- Locks: $5.00
- Textbooks: 8$ per
class ($64 per year) Some courses require an extra
fee. Teachers will provide students with this
information.
- Students need to
clear up any lost/damaged textbook fees
- $5.00 Technology Fee
- Lunch: Full-$1.85;
Reduced- $.40
- Breakfast:
Full-$1.20; Reduced- $.30
Attention:
All Parents/Students!

- Students with
expired immunization certificates should bring the
updated forms to give the registrar.
- Enrolling
students will need to provide proof of residency by
bringing in a current utility bill.
